About Global Heritage Network (GHN)
The mission of the Global Heritage Network (GHN) is bring together the leading international experts in world heritage conservation and development to identify and respond to the increasing threats, looting and destruction of world heritage sites in developing countries.
GHN provides funding, technical support and the latest technology and science needed to ensure the highest levels of conservation and sustainable development for endangered world heritage sites.
GHN brings together leading experts in science and technology to develop strategic plans for conservation and enable collaborative partnerships in all sectors that promote science- based conservation goals. GHN promotes international exchange between international experts and local conservation leaders in developing countries in critical need of expertise and conservation resources. GHN works to implement and train conservation professionals on the international standards set forth in the Burra and Venice Charters of world heritage conservation.
GHN works to promote public awareness and involvement in conservation of world heritage in partnership with other leading conservation institutes and organizations. GHN collaborates with universities, research centers, multilateral government and non-governmental organizations, to address the urgent global-scale concerns of world heritage conservation and science. GHN experts and leaders in conservation are using state-of-the-art technology for mapping and GIS, master conservation planning, and to consult with other experts around the world.
GHN provides the network and science-based tools and resources for conservators, scientists and decisions-makers to help them make informed decisions about how best to protect our endangered world heritage.
