Fellowship Program

Sponsor a GHF Fellow - $2,500
The purpose of the Global Heritage Preservation Fellowship Program is to support the cultural heritage conservation and community development work of international and in-country scholars and students at endangered cultural heritage sites. We feel strongly that by supporting this generation in their preservation efforts and education we can help to secure endangered sites for future generations.

A donation of $2,500 sponsors a one-year fellowship in the disciplines of archaeological conservation, historic preservation, heritage management, conservation science, site management planning, GIS and mapping, or sustainable tourism and community development. This donation covers the cost of at least 4-6 weeks of on-site field activity and the production of both an Interim Progress Report and a Final Report on the outcomes and best practices in world heritage conservation. As a GHF Fellowship sponsor, you can even choose to have the fellowship named after you or a loved one.

Sponsors play a key role in the execution of a GHF Fellowship project, and will receive periodic project updates as well as the Interim and Final Reports. Past fellowship projects have included conservation work at the world’s oldest known mosaic in Gordion, Turkey; developing a model to control land movement at Chavin de Huanter, Peru through the use of indigenous plants; and a sustainable conservation training program for local community members in the 15th Century city of Khalifatabad, Bangladesh.
