Mirador, Guatemala
Cradle of Mayan Civilization

In addition to our key partners The Foundation for Anthropological Research and Environmental Studies (FARES) and The Foundation of Cultural and Natural Maya Patrimony (PACUNAM), in 2006 GHF signed a 10-year agreement with the Department of the Interior, International Affairs Division for planning, training and park development of Mirador. Multiple teams of Department of Interior managers and experts will work with GHF in Mirador with support of the U.S. government for salaries, with GHF covering travel costs. GHF-U.S. Department of the Interior (U.S. National Park Service and other agencies) teams have recently completed 12 missions to determine work to be completed over the next five years with the Guatemalan Government, local communities and private sponsors.
